La mostra espone gli ultimi lavori video di Giuseppe Zimmardi. Brevi video incentrati sul tema della visione sia nella sua accezione proto tecnologica che mistica e mentale. 'Tu en es encore à la tentation d'Antoine' è una frase di Rimbaud e può essere considerata pretesto affettivo enunciativo del tema della mostra.Tre proiezioni si ripetono in loop di cinque minuti accompagnati da un mix sonoro originale. Sibille, santi, scienziati, macchine semoventi su fondo nero tra schemi elettrici, meccanici e ritagli della tradizione iconografica religiosa e scientifica. Piccole avventure oniriche e di memoria, trappole del senso, sviste da perdonare, tentazioni dell'Altro tanto seducenti quanto ironiche e improabili. Falsi dichiarati e animati dei quali, come d'ogni visione, sarà lecito chiedersi: quali quelli buoni e quali quelli cattivi?
Nuvole presents the most recent works of Giuseppe Zimmardi. The title Tu en es encore à la tentation d'Antoine, a quote taken from Rimbaud, reveals the topic of the exhibition: the vision as a pre-technological medium and its spiritual and mental value. Three short videos will run every five minutes with an original soundtrack. Small dreamlike adventures populated by sybils, saints and scientists, ambiguous memories full of apparently nonsensical mobile machines, electrical and mechanical systems. Tricky, seductive, tempting and ironic puzzles of meaning left under our attention. As a matter of fact his works are misleading animated visions about which we can certainly wonder whether they are true or not.
Giuseppe Zimmardi was born in Palermo in 1952. Since the 70s he has mainly worked with video art and moving images. His very peculiar point of view employs an abstract mixture of images and texts.
